The PulseNet network actively evaluates improvements in genotyping methodology and develops new methods. The network allows full validation of possible improvements to protocols to made using joint network resources.
PFGE Method Development
PFGE protocols are currently under development for

- Alternative agaroses for gel electrophoresis
- Use of enzymes from different manufacturers
- Alternative gel stains to use in place of ethidium bromide
